Greg McClurg, Woodworker

Picture
Greg grew up in the Midwest and got his love of working with wood from his father. As with many woodturners he started with traditional woodworking “flatwork” and as a hobby made many things to be used around the house. Having a desire to start “turning” wood he took his first class in 2013 and was hooked immediately. He has pursued his passion through several classes and demonstrations. He enjoys exploring new methods and techniques such as pyrography, carving, and various finishing embellishments. The majority of his pieces are created from wood that has become available through disease, or urban expansion.

Greg has lived in Durango for 30 years and enjoys golf, fly fishing, camping and playing pickleball.
