I started my new career path right after retiring from 23 years as a Budget Analyst. It was about as far a departure from the world of number crunching as one can get, but it was my dream to immerse myself in the art of watercolors and see if I could learn enough and, more importantly, had the talent to become an ‘Artist’. I attended many painting and drawing classes starting with the obvious, Beginning Watercolors, and soon made the wonderful discovery that I had chosen the right path. I have always been drawn to the watercolor medium probably due to seeing some of my Mother’s early watercolor paintings. She wasn’t able to pursue her artistic dream so I decided to continue where she left off. I have always leaned toward crafty projects; stained glass, crocheting, etc., but painting has become one of the most rewarding and exciting challenges I’ve ever experienced. I also work in pastels, pen and ink, charcoal, and hope to try acrylics and water based oils in the near future. I hope you like my watercolors as much as I enjoyed creating them.
