"I've been an artist since age four when I announced to rather startled folks that art would be my life's calling. Many decades later, it has turned out to be true. All I've ever done is create art, whether it's painting, drawing, graphic design, silk screened banners, batik scarves, stage sets. Haven't met a medium yet I didn't fall in love with. Lately, and for some time, I have been working with fabric, batik dying and stitching, quilting and
appliqué. There's something so quintessentially female about fabric. The feel, the flexibility, its textural sense, its depth of color. It's ancient history as "women's work." My first teacher was my grandmother, and I sense her pleasure on the artistic path I've chosen."
